Is the Year Half Full…or Half Empty?

July 8, 2019
When I was a little girl, summer was about 100 Saturdays strung together by birds chirping as a wake up call, walking for blocks and blocks to see friends, watching baseball at the local field at the end of our street, the summer fair at the Catholic church near us, nights of sitting outside on porches with friends not worrying about the bugs, one full week in Ocean City, NJ and then back to school shopping when we came home.
For some reason, this summer feels and sounds like those days. I hope all of you find ways to enjoy your 100 days of summer, despite your business challenges, work challenges and family challenges. Maybe an outdoor concert or a picnic or a baseball game….maybe a street fair for a good cause.
Happy Summer of 2019!
The third quarter is upon us! For more than 150 PowerLink companies, that means catching up from the first two quarters or blowing through Q3 because of the planning you did in Q1 and Q2. We are continuing to follow the methodology from “Traction,” which has transformed some of our companies operating styles. We are also starting to get ready for Succession Planning workshops in November across the state. These workshops are by invitation only. Please let me know if you’d like to attend.
Our Harrisburg, York and Lancaster programs will be launching in October 2019. Watch for more details regarding locations and meeting times. A big thank you to our executive in charge of Southcentral PA, Jayne Huston and her Executive-in-Residence, Sherry Jordan.
If you’d like to register for any of our programs, please contact us at sherry@powerlink.org.
Happy Summer!

  3. I didn't mention that I also took a summer art class for five years and walked to the high school to paint every morning for six weeks. The smell of the oils and the summer air from open windows in the classroom are still vivid. What is your favorite summer memory? --Anita

  4. Summers on French Creek with cousins and grandparents first comes to mind. Swimming in the creek, rowing the boat to Cochranton for groceries, long walks on the Nickel Plate Road, corn roasts when the parents came on the weekends, lightning bugs, wrens, fishing and fun. I wish I could force myelf to stay in vacation pace more often! - Ellen
